Three Ways to Spend Halloween

Trick-or-treating isn’t the only option for those looking to have fun on Halloween. In the Austin area, many haunted house and ghost tours aim to provide a scary experience for all who attend.

If unsure on how to spend Halloween this Halloween, this list has the top 3 best places to go.

1. House of Torment offers a great place to enjoy a scare, with three chilling new attractions this year: the gruesome Blood Stained Haunted House, centered on themes of blood and experimentation; the mystical Cursed Pharaoh’s Tomb, which explores ancient Egyptian mythology with cursed artifacts; and La Casa De Bruja, a haunted house focused on witchery and demonic encounters.

2. As the only Ghost Tour Company which originates in Austin, The Austin Ghost Tours provide an immersive experience for those interested in the city’s haunted history. Through these tours, one of which includes a 90-minute walking tour through the Austin Historical District, participants will be able to hear the stories behind what makes these locations haunted.

The other tour, Pioneer Farms Ghosts, is a paranormal investigation centered around the historical museum. This tour takes place at night, with the only light emitted coming from flashlights contributing to the spooky atmosphere. October investigations will be taking place on Oct. 24-25.

3. Bat City Scaregrounds has three haunted houses with each of them having a different theme and experience. Castle Orlock, a science fiction horror mashup centered around the space vampire, Orlock the Defiler. Ancient Evil, an attraction that goes on a journey through different horrors throughout history. Clownocalypse, trippy and wild 3D maze themed as a clown rave.

No matter which of these horrific destinations are attended to, spending Halloween at any one of them ensures an unforgettable night.
