The lighting of Black Rock is perfect. Many coffee shops have dim lighting and dark corners,however, Black Rock has a bright warm lighting that allows for a cozy and comfortable feel while also making it possible to see your work in front of you. The store playlist featured many songs from artists including Dominic Fike and Billie Eilish. The volume was loud enough to hear, but quiet enough to tune out and listen to your own music if desired. The White Chocolate Latte had a good balance of sweetness and coffee. The one major ne downside is that the chairs were an uncomfortable place to sit if you plan on staying there awhile. Although there were other chairs that were much more comfy, the majority hurt to sit on. Overall, Black Rock is an 8/10, the ambiance and coffee was phenomenal.

Black Rock offers a really good environment for studying for a few reasons. It has a good variety of options for seating with a charging port at every table, the only complaint seating wise is that the chairs were metal and left patterns in your legs when you stood up. The shop had bright lighting and upbeat music which kept me awake and engaged. Their playlist was very good and trendy without being too slow or too loud. Black Rock has a drive thru which minimizes foot traffic inside and overall helps support a study environment. They have a wide variety of coffee, matcha, energy drinks, various teas and blended beverages. The Mexican mocha latte was very good and rich, usually I find flavored lattes to be way too sweet and fake tasting but this latte had the perfect amount of sweetness and a good rich chocolate flavor with afternotes of cinnamon and almond. Black Rock outsources all their food from either Taco Deli or Easy Tiger so whenever they run out there’s no restocking, with end of the day food options being very slim. The prices are reasonable but it helps that they do a three dollar drink special on Tuesdays for students and teachers. Overall, Black Rock is a very good environment for engaging in studying or homework and makes it easier to focus than a lot of other coffee shops.
