JROTC’s Military Ball took place March 1 at the Round Rock High School cafeteria. Units from all across Central Texas were in attendance.

“I had a lot of fun and I met a lot of new people,” sophomore Cameron Spohn said.

The first hour of the event, or “social hour,” was for introductions and mingling among the attendees as they arrived and settled in.

After that, some speakers, including the Superintendent Steve Flores, spoke to the students as food was served. Next, the king and queen for each unit were announced.

For McNeil, Ben Irish was crowned king and Destiny Villegas was crowned queen.

For the rest of the ball, music played and the students just danced.

“I really enjoyed it. The air conditioning wasn’t working right, but other than that, I had a blast,” sophomore Jason Blaschke said.
