Ways People Are Using New Spaces

Many lounging areas have been added to McNeil High School for this school year. These lounging spaces include tables and chairs that both teachers and students can utilize.

“The spaces are marvelous,” physics teacher David Prince said. “It’s great to have open spaces where we can gather and work.”

The new spaces include bright green couches, gray high tables, chairs and blue stools. Although originally meant for students to lounge or work on them, teachers have used the furniture and open space for their lessons.

We’ve occasionally had classes go over there, study groups and people eat there during lunch,” Prince said. “All of us used them a couple of weeks ago when the air conditioning wasn’t working. It was a lot cooler there than it was in the classrooms.”

Teachers in the F wing have also used the space for special projects.

“They’re also good for lab areas,” Prince said. “The other physics teachers and I have used them for labs occasionally.”
