Library holds first Lunch & Learn

Library+holds+first+Lunch+%26+Learn

The library held its first Lunch & Learn of the year on Friday, Aug. 25, that being a Tiny Art Show.

The goal of Lunch & Learns is to give students a break during the school day, and a chance to do something fun. Students who attended were provided with the necessary materials to make a tiny masterpiece on a 3 ½” by 3 ½” canvas and were given the opportunity to take their art home and finish it there. Tiny art pieces should be submitted by Sept. 7.

“I really wanted to do it last year, I thought it was a really interesting way to bring in different community perspectives, and we just didn’t get to it last year,” Head Librarian Amelia Lewis said. “We’re hoping to do two Lunch & Learns a month, they fill up fast which means we end up having to turn people away, which makes me really sad.”

The tiny art submissions will be on display in the library by Sept. 11 for students and teachers, and open to parents and visitors during Open House later that day.
