As the 2024 end-of-year exams are close approaching, it’s important to know the procedures for testing so you can be ready to excel on exam day. The exams will be held over two weeks in May: May 6–10 and May 13–17. AP coordinators will let students know when and where to report for exams. Remember, early testing or testing at times other than those published by the College Board is not allowed. If students are unable to test during the original testing dates, they will have an opportunity to complete the test late.
During the exam weeks, each day will consist of a morning session followed by an afternoon session, typically starting at 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. However, there are exceptions for certain exams such as AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism, which starts at 2 p.m. It’s important to check the schedule to have a clear understanding of when your specific exam starts. Be sure to bring all necessary materials with you to your exam, such as pencils, a fully charged computer and calculators.
If you discover any conflicts with your exam schedule, your AP coordinator can help you order alternate exams.
“I’m a little worried about not making it to one of my AP exams, and I don’t know how to make it up,” Lorenzo Reyes, a sophomore AP World History student said.
These exams are scheduled at specific times for students who were unable to test during the regular exam weeks. Remember that the goal is for everyone to have a fair chance to demonstrate their knowledge, so be sure to study hard, stay organized, and don’t hesitate to ask your AP coordinator if you have any questions or concerns about the testing process.
