HOSA hosted the Area 1 Fall Leadership Conference on Saturday, Oct. 26 at McNeil High School. The HOSA Area 1 Fall Leadership Conference is an annual one-day conference event in the fall that offers members a variety of opportunities to learn more about health care careers, leadership skills, and the benefits of being part of HOSA.
At the conference, students can attend informative sessions led by industry experts, discuss patient care plans, and discover more about HOSA’s National Service Project. Additionally, the conference often covers important topics such as state officer elections, competitive events, and other relevant information for HOSA members.
“With over 1,400 attendees, the day was a tremendous success, bringing together students, sponsors, and volunteers from San Antonio, Austin, and Round Rock,” HOSA Sponsor Dr. Carmen Ehrman said. “The energy was contagious, the friendships formed were inspiring, and the wealth of guidance provided invaluable insights for our future paths in healthcare.”
Students who attended the conference were engaged in a variety of hands-on activities and college preparation sessions.
“It was really cool to see McNeil being used for such an event,” senior HOSA officer Shennie Ye said. “I’m grateful that our high school could be a place where so many people can be inspired and learn from the variety of speakers, phlebotomy stations [and] suture stations that we set up!”
