The Cross Country team competed at the Profit Invitational in Temple on Aug. 30. The varsity boys and girls team and JV boys team ran a 5K while the JV girls ran two miles. Many individuals placed top 15 and the varsity boys team placed 2nd overall which is a big accomplishment since this was their first time placing in four years.
Varsity captain Justine Peterson got a personal record of almost a minute faster than the last time she ran this meet. She believes this will help her reach her ultimate goal of getting recruited to run in college.
“Consistency is the main thing that helped me get better,” Peterson said. “I stayed really consistent over the summer, I even practiced during my vacation and I think that if you are consistent the results will come.”
