On Friday night, the Lady Mavs took on the Pflugerville Lady Panthers and hoped home court advantage would be in their favor.

In the first set, the Lady Mavs dominated the game. Rebecca Latham and Megan Unrath continually worked together to slam the ball over the net. In a moment of craziness to save the ball, Sami Frazier and Zoey Frazier managed to score a point despite the ball being in the rafters. The girls won the first set 25-14.

During the second set, the Lady Mavs struggled due to clumsy moves. However, the girls did not give up, and pushed on to win 25-20.

Going into the third game with a 2-0 lead, it proved disappointing, starting out much like the second. After catching up to the Lady Panthers with a tie of 13-13, the Lady Mavs went on to the lose the set.

Even though the girls continued to play hard, the fourth and fifth sets ended the same as the third, giving the majority of the wins to the Lady Panthers.

The Lady Mavs next play Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at home.
