On Friday, Feb. 9, men’s basketball faced Stony Point. McNeil’s record currently is 13-18 overall and they have a 2-10 district record making McNeil seventh in the district, while Stony Point’s record is 30-1 overall record and has a district record of 12-0 making them first in their district and number six in the entire country.
McNeil’s most recent basketball game was on Tuesday, Feb. 6, which was against the Round Rock Dragons and McNeil lost 46-50. While McNeil fought hard, Round Rock high school was ranked number four in the district with an 18-12 overall record and a 7-5 district record. Round Rock ultimately took the win.
Stony Point’s most recent basketball game was also on Tuesday and they played the Westwood Warriors with a final score of 66-54 victory for Stony Point. Westwood is ranked number six in the district with a 19-12 overall record and a 7-5 district record. Before Stony Point played Westwood, Stony Point was ranked eighth in the nation, but with their updated record they moved up to the number sixth nationally ranked team.
