In the heat of the moment, junior Ryan Robbins makes a split-second, game-changing decision. The varsity basketball team continued its Maverick tradition in advancing to playoffs for the 13th year in a row. Despite a rough start to the season, the team put aside their doubts to sweep six consecutive games – placing them in the playoffs and a chance at ultimate victory. “The most important trait required for this sport is perseverance,” Robbins said. “We saw as a team how despite the difficult moments we really are capable of reaching our goals.” The Running Mavs take on the Del Valle Cardinals Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. at Stony Point High School.
