Here’s the major news you missed last week

West Texas Shooting-

A shooting in West Texas near Midland and Odessa on Saturday, Aug. 31 left seven dead and 25 others wounded. It began during a traffic stop and ended at a movie theatre where the shooter was killed.

 

Hurricane Dorian-

Hurricane Dorian hit the Bahamas as a historic category five hurricane, and left behind nothing but destruction. At least 30 people have died on the island. The hurricane has been downgraded from a category five, and hit North Carolina on Friday as a category one. At least four people have died due to the storm.

 

Boat Fire off the Coast of California-

A diving boat caught fire off the coast of California at night while most of the people on board were asleep. Five crew members were rescued and those who were still on board have been presumed dead. Search and recovery efforts by the Coast Guard are still ongoing.
