Restroom Remodel Needed

McNeil High School is definitely not known for its beautiful, porcelain restrooms. Deep green stalls with gender-coded floor tiles: nude pink for females, nude pink and mint green for males. Fluorescent lights taper onto creamy white walls directly above scratched up mirrors. The writing on the stalls indicate battered hearts and angry souls throughout the year.
The restrooms are in need of a makeover.
Some students said they would be more likely to use school restrooms if they were prettier.
On the positive side, these restrooms provide stalls for the special needs of students, both male and female. Also, the custodial staff does its best to maintain the cleanliness of the restrooms. I’m grateful for the custodial staff we have here. Students should also do their part.
Let’s face it: McNeil restrooms do not have the comforts of home. Maybe with the building renovations scheduled to begin in the summer, the restrooms will get their facelift, too. I’m looking forward to these improvements.
