The Case Continues
‘Sherlock’ releases new season
The game is on.
The fourth season of the BBC production Sherlock came out on Jan.1 after a three year hiatus, drawing several Sherlock fans to the screen to find out how it continued after a cliffhanger hinting at the probability of Moriarty returning.
It begins with resolving the problem created in Season 3, Episode 3. Sherlock then returns to the daily routine of solving small cases while waiting for a larger case to catch his attention, which in this episode was the Six Thatchers. This episode was unique in the way that the case concerning a death was brief and that it led to a separate investigation concerning sculptures of heads. Sherlock and Watson followed this case until the end, the plot twist.
The return of Sherlock was worth watching. It contained the usual humor of Sherlock’s awkward interactions with the people around him, and Sherlock being Sherlock, had an entertaining and somewhat challenging case, and answered some of the questions the third season brought up.
However, the end of the episode shocked many fans, myself included. The end makes the fans wonder how the characters are going to manage. After watching this episode, I was intrigued with what else the show has to offer in the last two episodes, which release later in January, and was not at all motivated to stop watching; the end only spiked my curiosity.
Overall, I enjoyed this new season and eagerly wait for more along with other Sherlock fans.
