When we performed, I felt a lot of nostalgia, since it brought back memories of the first time we performed.”

Junior Lucy Conner performing “The Challenge” from “EPIC: The Musical” by Jorge Rivera Herrans. “I chose this song because it’s a very beautiful and captivating song about Penelope who’s been waiting for her husband for 20 years to come back from war, with about 100 suitors trying to win the throne,” Conner said. “During the performance, once I got over the nerves of all the people there, I just tried to put myself in the mind of Penelope, a woman who stayed steadfast and loyal to her husband and refused to let the suitors win. I really felt in character and powerful during the chorus because of the sheer power of the song.”
