Addison Rae has taken her career all the way from TikTok to Netflix documentaries. And here’s how she’s done it.
First joining TikTok in August of 2019, Addison gained her popularity through her videos of trending dances and lip-syncing. Later that year, she packed up for Los Angeles, moving to join the Hype House with some of the other social media sensations of the time. Over the span of 2 years, Addison had accumulated her connections, brand deals, and over 80 million followers on TikTok, making her one of the biggest creators on the app.
With her platform established, she released her first single ‘Obsessed’ in March of 2021, though her music career really gained its recognition after her first album “Addison” that she released earlier this year in June. With songs like ‘Headphones On’ and ‘Diet Pepsi’, Addison Rae created her sound as an artist.
A role in the 2021 series ‘He’s All That’, starring in ‘Thanksgiving’, and one of her newest roles in Netflix’s new documentary ‘Monster: The Ed Gein Story’ as Evelyn Hartley sums up Addison’s acting career as of October 2025. Though soon, in 2026, she is expected to appear in the comedy ‘Animal Friends’ with actors like Ryan Reynolds and Aubrey Plaza.
From short, 15-second videos on a social media platform to roles on television, Addison has curated her presence through her outgoing personality and, relatively new, eccentric style. And, considering the ambition she’s shown at this new era in her life, we can only assume that there’s more to come.
