The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony was a night full of music, memories, and big emotions. Held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the event honored artists who changed the sound of music and inspired millions.
Among the most celebrated inductees was Cyndi Lauper, whose artistry and vibrant style redefined pop music. Rising star Chappel Roan paid tribute to Lauper with a heartfelt speech, calling her “a blueprint for authenticity”, as well as wearing a dress inspired by Lauper’s’ “True Colors” music video.
Outkast, the Atlanta-based hip-hop duo of André 3000 and Big Boi, electrified the crowd with a fiery performance, reminding fans why their unique sound remains iconic to this day. Their induction marked a milestone for Southern hip-hop’s recognition on the biggest stage in rock and roll.
Grunge pioneers Soundgarden were also inducted by none other than Jim Carrey, who shared a personal story about receiving late lead singer Chris Cornell’s guitar after a 1996 SNL episode. The band performed “Rusty Cage” and “Black Hole Sun,” joined by Brandi Carlile, Taylor Momsen, and Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready. Cornell’s daughter, Toni Cornell, delivered a moving acoustic rendition of “Fell on Black Days”.
The White Stripes were also inducted, known for their raw garage rock and iconic song “Seven Nation Army”. Though they did not perform, their legacy was honored through a surprise opening act led by Stevie Wonder.
Other inductees included performers Salt-N-Pepa, Bad Company, Joe Cocker, and Chubby Checker. As well as Carol Kaye, Nicky Hopkins, Thom Bell, and Warren Zevon for their contributions in shaping the world of popular music as we know it.
Streamed live on Disney+ and Hulu — with a primetime special airing on ABC on Jan. 1, 2026 — the event showcased not only music’s past but its vibrant future, showing the world how it continues to evolve, now more than ever.
