HOSA Advances to Orlando for Nationals
HOSA students traveled to San Antonio for the state competition March 29-30 with five advancing to Nationals June 25-28 in Orlando, Florida.
The following students will represent McNeil: Saheel Chodavadia (10), first place in Medical Law and Ethics; Nick Ge (12), first Place in Biotechnology and Recognition in Healthcare Issues; Christy Han (11), Recognition for HOSA Happenings Newsletter; Jacklyn Matthews (11), Recognition for HOSA Happenings Newsletter; and Meghan Romere (12), Recognition in Healthcare Issues.
“I felt pretty confident since I had started studying my two textbooks around the end of February, which gave me around a full month to study,” Chodavadia said. “I’ll prepare for nationals the same way I did for state. I’ll reread my textbooks and go over the important information.”
HOSA is a national organization which prepares students to enter a field in health care. HOSA’s goal is to advocate all health occupations and for students to be involved in the health care industry.
“All students performed well and Texas is a big state so competition is tough,” HOSA sponsor Lynn Matthews said. “We are proud of all of the students who advanced to state level-it is quite an accomplishment.”
