On Monday, Jan. 15, there will be no school for both students and staff in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. King Jr. was a well-known leader and activist during the Civil Rights Movement from 1950-1960.

This 3-day weekend will also be a ‘Homework-Free Weekend’ as no teachers will be allowed to assign homework to their students during the long weekend.

On Sept. 5 at the varsity game against Lake Belton High School, junior Jarrell Gary celebrates after scoring a touchdown during the 4th quarter. Gary says that he sees that his team is excited and knows that he made a good play but still needs to keep up the good work. “ After the play, I talked to my offensive coordinator and we ended up getting a flag because of my celebration but the game still had to go on.”
