Toriana Adaryll Jackson, otherwise known as Tito Jackson, has passed away at the age of 70. The singer, best known for being the guitarist of his family band, the Jackson 5 is believed to have had a heart attack while driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma on Sunday, but the real cause of his passing is still unclear.
His three kids, TJ, Taryll and Taj made an Instagram statement that day about Jackson’s passing, where they would say “It would forever be ‘Tito Time’” for each of them.
Jackson rose to fame with the Jackson 5 in the 60s and 70s with songs including “I’ll Be There,” “I Want You Back” and more are still popular and listened to today.
“You could say Tito was the glue that held the Jackson 5 together on their journey to superstardom,” Motown founder Berry Gordy said. “His talent as a musician was undeniable, ensuring that their live performances met the expectation of their fans who loved their records”
