Round Rock ISD Set to Celebrate First Unity Day

Unity Day is the signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month and is celebrated on the third or fourth Wednesday of October.

A Round Rock ISD School Board passed a resolution in September declaring Oct. 22 as Unity Day throughout RRISD. The district encourages students to wear the color orange next Wednesday to spread awareness against bullying, hoping to send a message of kindness and acceptance for all students.

Because October is national bullying prevention month, Unity Day was started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in 2011 as a day to create community throughout campuses.
