Swimmers Begin Water Polo Season
After a long swim season, some swimmers began the third water polo season in school history at the first tournament at Round Rock High School on Mar. 26. The girls’ team of 18 won one of two games while the boys’ team of 11 lost both games.
“There was one day of tryouts,” water polo manager Cara Chin said. “We did basic treading, sprints and ball handling.”
Round Rock, Cedar Ridge, McCallum, LBJ and Anderson were all at the first water polo tournament. The girls won their first game against Round Rock and lost to McCallum while the boys lost to Round Rock and Anderson.
“We haven’t done fantastic over the last two years,” Chin said. “But we are better this year and we get better with experience.”
