The 6A Region ll swim meet was held on Feb. 2 at the Rockwell Natatorium. Ten McNeil swimmers made it to A finals with one, Cameron Katzman, advancing to the State meet Feb. 16 in Austin.
“McNeil has a wonderful history of having talented kids advance to [region], coach Johnny Foss said. “I am proud that we have done it again. They performed outstandingly and showed tremendous growth from where they started this season.”
Katzman will compete in two individual events – 100 and 200 freestyle – as one of the top 16 swimmers in the state. At the region meet his time in 100 were 41.16 and his time in the 200 were 1.41.78.
