In the last moments of the game, senior wide receiver Adam Needing runs the ball in for the last touchdown of the game. The Mavericks beat Del Valle in the first game of the season with a score of 49-13.

The varsity football team won their first game of the season against Del Valle with a score of 49-13. The game was on Friday, Aug. 26 at the Dragon Stadium. The theme for the student section was neon to “Outshine the Cardinals.” The team was ahead for most of the game and scored the game-winning touchdown at the end of the fourth quarter. The football team’s next game is this Friday, Sept. 2 and the theme is Black Out. The game will be held at the Dragon Stadium against the Pflugerville varsity team.
