On Monday, Mar. 25, the Mcneil Women’s Basketball Team celebrated their season during their banquet at the Oasis. Senior Riley Samples was voted Co-offensive MVP and was also chosen for first-team all-district, similarly freshman Caria Thomas was selected for all-district second team. With 11 all-district academic awards, the lady Mavs aren’t just working hard on the court, but working hard in the classrooms, too. Senior Karvi Madyastha stood out on and off the court this year, getting recognized for all-district honorable mention and academic all-district.
“Being a senior attending my final banquet made me feel proud and grateful,” Madyastha said. “Seeing all of the younger players and their families reminded me of my past years, this season was all about growth and development, so meeting all the new players and creating new relationships had to have been the best part of my season.”
