To prepare seniors for their futures, librarian Laura Falli hosted a senior only Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, May 13.
“I listened to a really good podcast and the Stanford professor talked about using opportunities and how you create your life,” Falli said. ”I just thought that was a really good message for our seniors to think about as they graduate.”
Seniors watched a slideshow about moving on after high school and luck versus fate.
“This really helped me and impacted me for the future after graduating,” senior Kennadi Taylor said. “It impacted me because it helped me feel grateful instead of thinking I’m just really lucky. I realized the work I put in actually pays off.”
Seniors also decorated their caps and ate cake.
“I think it’s good to have something just for them,” Falli said. ”I thought it was really sweet [that] the cake said ‘Congratulations class of 2026.’ People were taking pictures of it, they just got excited. It’s a big celebratory time for seniors and the library likes to think that since we’ve been there since they were freshman, we want to help them celebrate.”
