The Oklahoma City Thunder are the reigning NBA champions after a dominating season that saw them finish first in the Western Conference with a record of 68-14. The Thunder had little challenge in their impressive season. But winning the championship wasn’t just a one time thing. They are favorites to win this year and they have a good chance to go back to back. Their roster is the same if not better this year, and they have already started this season off strong being perfect through their first 7 games.

The leader of the team is current MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is always the best player on the court and is still only getting better. He is one of the most clutch scorers in the game and controls the pace of the game when he is on the floor. He sets the tone for the game as he is unguardable and looking to win his second MVP.

The Thunder have one of the deepest teams and benches in the NBA. Every player that comes  off the bench is just as good as the last. It doesn’t matter who is on the court, they all give 110 percent on every play. They are the league’s best defense statistically and will smother any player to make sure they get the stop.

The team is put together perfectly for long term winning. They will thrive in today’s basketball since the roster is constructed of players who can dribble, pass, and shoot. Because of this, they have set themselves up to be one of the great dynasties in NBA history.

The Western Conference has teams that can compete with OKC, but the Thunder being the youngest and toughest team gives them the best fighting chance across a long season. They earned their title last year with domination and they are perfectly set up this year to hoist the trophy again at the end of the season.
