The Senior vs. Junior ‘Powderpuff’ game will take place this year at Maverick Stadium on Friday, May 15, at 5:30 p.m. Powderpuff originated around 1972 as a fundraising event and to celebrate school spirit, and is a popular event featuring female students playing flag or tackle football, often coached by male peers at the end of a school year.
“Im super excited to play again this year,” Senior Kaylee Ham said. “Its a really fun tradition we get to do each year, and im glad we get to do it again as a way to celebrate the end of the school year.”
In order to participate all female athletes must fill out a permission and liability release form before taking part, which will be turned into Ms. Slaughter’s office in the gym by Wednesday, May 13.
