Girls’ Varsity Soccer Keep Up Morale

True to their word, girls’ varsity soccer worked hard to keep up their game. Following their win against Stony Point, the Lady Mavs went on to play against Westwood.

Despite a hard fight and an admirable performance, the girls slipped just short of a win, losing the game 0-1. However, they then went on four days later to play another spectacular game against Pflugerville, beating them once again with a score of 2-0.

“This last Pflugerville game was our most offensive game of the season, in my opinion,” junior Lauren Meeker said. “We easily dominated them. Mallory Davidson and Haley Spinks had the goals.”

Yet after this victory, the girls experienced another loss to Round Rock, and a 0-4 loss to Hendrickson.

“We fought especially hard against Round Rock because we didn’t want to lose to them twice,” Meeker said. “But they scored those two unfortunate goals on us.”

It’s too early to pass any judgments yet, though. The girls won their most recent game against Cedar Ridge with a score of 1-0.

The girls secured a playoff berth, taking on Westlake. The Lady Mavs’ season ended with a 0-1 lost to the Lady Chaps March 28.
