After a great win last week, the Mavs just couldn’t repeat it on Friday as they were defeated 16-34 by the Round Rock Dragons. This loss brings their district record to 1-3 and it adds their sixth loss of the season.

It was a chilly night on Friday as the Mavs faced off against their rival Dragons on the night of Round Rock’s homecoming. A packed Dragon Stadium watched as the two teams matched up in what was supposed to be a close, intense match up.

The Mavericks came out great in the beginning, putting up the first points of the game with a field goal. Unfortunately, their success came extremely limited the rest of the night as the Dragons’ offense and defense put up point after point on the Mavs.

The bye this week serves as the perfect time for the Mavericks to regroup. The Mavericks face off against the undefeated Hendrickson Hawks at 7 pm, Nov. 1 at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex. With two games left in the season, hopefully the Mavs can use the home crowd to their advantage to get the victories.
