During the last game of the season against Westwood player Kelly McConnell goes to hit the ball. Sami Frazier encourages her teammate as she aims for the ball.

The Lady Mavs played the last game of the season Oct. 29 against Westwood.

In the first set, the Lady Mavs hit the ball into the rafters. Of course, they saved the ball, too, in a team effort by Kelly McConnell and Hannah Weaver. In several situations the girls scrambled to get the ball, and successfully made it over the net. After four hits out, the Lady Mavs lost to the Westwood Lady Warriors, 15-25.

In the second set Sami Frazier and Hannah Weaver both tried to get the ball at the same time and ended up giving Westwood a point. The girls also set up a great kill but then hit too far out or accidentally hit the net after serving. These actions resulted in another loss, 18-25.

The Lady Mavs seemed to have lost their hope in the beginning of the third set. Players tried to dive for the ball and just generally get the ball over the net, but repeatedly didn’t make it over. Near the end of the game the girls began to step up their game, but it simply wasn’t enough.
