The girls’ cross country team continues to excel as varsity took first place and at the Westwood meet and second at the Hendrickson cross country invitational. Sophomore Sara Millar has run particularly well. She finished seventh place out of 154 runners at Hendrickson and finished first at Westwood.
“It feels good to be good,” Millar said. “Also, I can help people who are struggling because cross country is not for everyone.”
Senior Sarah Taylor also has shown great results. At Westwood, she placed fifth in the top 10, and at Hendrickson she crossed the line fourth out of 154 runners.
“We’ve worked hard,” Taylor said. “It’s all paid off.”
The amazing times that the Lady Mavs posted are proof of all the effort that the team and their coach Chris Cotten have put into making this a great year for runners.
“Work hard every day,” Cotten said. “And train smart.”
