Hawks Soar Above Mavs
The varsity football team took on the Hendrickson HIgh School Oct. 2 in Pflugerville. The Mavericks put up a galloping fight against the Hawks but fell short 34-44.
Wide receiver David Pleites (12) put in much of effort this game receiving a total of six passes and 223 yards. Quarterback Hayden Cooper (12) threw a total of 396 yards, leading the Mavericks to two touchdowns.
“I’m proud of my team, and that game set a spark that’s going to affect the rest of the season,” Cooper said.
This week’s game is Thursday Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex against Rouse High School.
