Since January, the Lady Mavs lacrosse team went head to head and stick to stick with other schools on the field.

For their first game of the season, the Lady Mavericks won against Westwood 11-10. Although the Warriors made a good effort to close in and take the winning point, the Mavs weren’t going to let that happen.
“Playing against Westwood was really fun,” senior captain Nichole Schiller said. “Just knowing that we’re playing against friends makes everything better and more competitive.”

Over the next two months, the Lady Mavs unfortunately won one other game out of all 11, where they were up against LBJ – the final score 13-7. The Mavericks played against schools like Reagan, St. Michaels, Georgetown and Lake Travis.

“We’ve had a couple of rough games,” senior Emily Cazes said. “We went into the games ready to play hard, and even though I was a little disappointed afterwards, I was proud of our team for really fighting.”

The girls finished out the season April 4 against Austin High School winning 9-6.
