JV Blue Mavs Baseball Beats Stony Point JV

On Tuesday, Apr. 16, 2024 the McNeil Mavericks JV Blue took down Stony Point JV team 8-3 W. Eduarado Gomez started on the pitching mound for the Mavericks and went four innings giving up only one run. He also had two hits and scored twice. The Stony Point pitcher struggled early not being able to find the zone.

The defense for the Mavericks performed well, only giving up three runs in six innings. Stony Point struggled to hit the ball and move runners from base to base. The Mavericks did not struggle to score runs and provide hits which ultimately scored them eight runs to win the ballgame.

Mavericks relief pitcher Abrahm Vazquez came in to shut down Stony Point and secure the Mavericks the win. The Mavericks secured their first win since they played Vista Ridge ending their losing streak. Hopefully, they can finish their season on a good note.

The Mavericks will take on Stony Point again Friday at the Tigers stadium. The game will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by the JV Green game which will be played at 7:30 p.m.
