On Tuesday, Feb. 3, the Lady Mavericks celebrated their four seniors before their final home game of the season. Before the game Varsity Head Coach Matthew Butler announced each senior, escorted by their parents, with a personalized speech announcing their plans for the future. Celebrating their high school accomplishments with bouquets and personalized gifts and cards, while underclassmen players presented Vista Ridge seniors with their own bouquets.
“The team is always so supportive, especially knowing this was my last home game, everyone was hype and the crowd was cheering which caused me to personally have more confidence,” Senior Forward Rishika Koossereti said. “It was very bitter sweet because some of these girls I’ve been playing with for the past three to four years and we have created this bond, making it pretty an emotional night knowing I wont see them after seeing them pretty much everyday for 4 years.”
Despite a losing record, the Lady Mavericks held their heads high throughout the entire season, and will officially complete their season on Friday, Feb. 13, against Cedar Ridge.
