On Tuesday, Feb. 17, the Mavericks faced off Hutto once again and after a first round loss against the Hippos, the Mavericks came back fierce, bringing home the huge 61-43 win on Senior Night. Before the game all five seniors walked the court escorted by their friends and family, with Head Coach Valentino Maxwell announcing each player’s future plans and goals past high school.
“Senior night was definitely a good experience, the people who came to support us, and my teammates, and having my family come on to the court,” Senior forward Chisimgadi Emeana said. ”Our season started off good, but we did have a little bit of adversity, but we still finished off with a winning season, and It was our first winning season in a long time, and since it was my last season I was trying to give it my all, I put everything that I had left into this season.”
The Mavericks ended the season with a 6-10 record placing them 7th overall in district, and plan to celebrate their season at their banquet on Tuesday, Mar. 3, at Casa Chapala.
