SXSW Music Festival preview: Star Studded Lineup

Spring Break is here, and in Austin, that means the 27th annual SXSW festival is set and ready to go. The music portion runs March 12-17.

For those with a ticket, here are a few artists to check out.

Rockie Fresh: Tuesday, March 12, 10:30 p.m. at The Belmont
Rockie Fresh is an up and coming hip hop/rap artist who has some old school influences as well as some East Coast style with R&B influences. He is similar to Drake, Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky for those looking for a comparison.

Third Eye Blind: Friday and Saturday March 16-17, 11 p.m. at Pandora Porch Friday and The Belmont Saturday
Remember these guys? Maybe this will ring a bell. Anyways, they are still around, and it would definitely be worth listening to this original alternative band perform live.

Baauer: Wednesday, March 13 at La Zona Rosa 1:10 a.m., Friday, March 15 at the Scoot Inn
Baauer is a DJ, and as most of you probably didn’t know, he made the Harlem Shake song that millions of people have used to make their viral videos. You would have to bet when Baauer performs, it will be quite a party for the 40 minutes that he performs.

There are more than 5,000 shows at SXSW featuring artists from all over the globe. I only mentioned three artists out there. For all show listings, go to http://www.sxsw.com/ .
