When I was younger I used to take cooking classes, and my favorite dessert I learned to make was tiramisu because the dessert has a subtle taste of coffee, but the bitterness is balanced out by the sweetness and the dessert has a soft with a creamy texture. The best thing about this dessert is it takes about 20 minutes to prepare, making it the perfect midnight snack, as long as you make it during lunch time.
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups mascarpone
8 ounce container
⅓ granulated sugar
1 ½ cups of cold espresso
16 lady fingers
Cocoa powder
8×8 baking dish
Instructions
Step 1: Whisk together the cocoa powder, espresso and vanilla in a bowl and set aside.
Step 2: In a mixer or using a hand mixer, beat the egg yolks and sugar until pale and thick, for 4 minutes.
Step 3: Add in the salt, mascarpone and then mix until smooth.
Step 4: Add the chilled cream and continue to mix, until smooth and creamy.
Step 5: Dip each lady finger into the espresso mixture.
Step 6: Layer the 8 lady fingers to form a base layer in the 8×8 baking dish, then add the mixture to cover the first layer.
Step 7: Repeat step 6 to form the second layer.
Step 8: Dust the top of the second layer with as much cocoa powder as you want.
Step 9: Cover the dish, then place in the fridge for at least 2 hours before eating.
