The mac n’ cheese recipe is so nostalgic to me, my grandma always made it for me when I was little. I also loved this recipe growing up, because it was super cheesy and now that I’m older I love how simple this recipe is to make.

2 teaspoons of garlic powder
1 tablespoon of salt (add to taste)
8 oz of colby jack cheese
8 oz of white cheddar cheese
1.5 tablespoons of flour
1 can of evaporated milk
2 cups of heavy cream
¼ of butter
2 cups macaroni
Steps
- Mix and then divide the two shredded cheeses into two bowls.
- Cook macaroni in a pot, add a pinch of salt.
- While the pasta is cooking, in another pan add butter and while the butter is melting add half your seasonings – garlic powder, and Black pepper.
- Pour both evaporated milk, and heavy cream slowly into the pan while whisking until the sauce thickens.
- Add half of the cheeses handful by handful, until you reach half of your supply.
- Add cooked pasta, and mix until fully coated in the sauce.
- In your baking dish of choice add one layer of half your mac n’ cheese, then top that with half of your remaining supply of cheese.
- Add the remaining half of your mac n’ cheese to make the second layer, then use the rest of the cheese to cover the top of mac n’ cheese.
- (optional) Bake at 325F for 25 minutes.
- (optional) Broil at 350F for 4 minutes.
- Your mac n’ cheese is ready to eat.
