A Blast From the Past

‘Back to the Future’ sequel celebrated on campus

October 21, 2015 marked a day in history for movie fanatics. It was the day Marty McFly time traveled back in time to save his children; featured in the second Back to the Future movie franchise.
In commemoration of the day, the library hosted an event. During all lunches, snacks like Doritos, Twinkies, and soda were provided along with clips from the trilogy.
A lunch had the largest group of participants.
“We watched videos on the predictions showed in the trilogy to see what has been accomplished in modern time,” freshman Nat Palomo said.
Faculty and staff dressed up in their best ‘80s outfits. They also wanted to do something fun besides dressing up.
“We were going to do karaoke because the movie has an awesome karaoke scene, but then we decided to just buy a bunch of snacks and watch clips at the last minute,” Librarian Amelia Lewis said.
Al Balmer, physics teacher, dressed up in his favorite jersey and his high school letter jacket. During his class period, he explained to his students that Back to the Future was his favorite movie growing up.
“It’s my favorite series,” freshman Andrew Taplin said. “It’s so funny and the setting of the movie is perfect.”
