Students from McNeil who placed high positions were put into a first place team for that category. Students got to pick a category of their preference to compete in and whether they wanted to compete in an individual event or a team event.
Senior Samagra Jain, who placed third in the science category, said he chose to compete in science because it was his best subject.
“It was nice being able to use the theoretical knowledge you get in school in practical applications,” Jain said. “There were challenges such as having to draw material from all my science classes to solve just one problem but it was fun and competitive at the same time.”
