The SAT, a test measuring knowledge acquired throughout high school, will take place on Wednesday, March 12 for all juniors. Students will be testing in assigned room numbers emailed to them the day prior to the test.
“I’m preparing for the SAT by taking practice tests on the College Board website,” junior Sydney Gharis said. “I also like the practice question bank I’ve been using, and watching videos online like on Khan Academy has been useful.”
After taking multiple practice tests, Gharis understands the importance of time management during the SAT.
“During the math section all the questions are easy at the beginning and it gets really bad once you get to the end,” Gharis said. “I need to manage my time going really quickly on the first questions so I have more time for the last ones.”
A high score on the SAT is useful when applying to colleges as it can help acquire scholarships and can demonstrate college readiness, and for this reason, Gharis believes it is important to do well.
“[The SAT] is a lot harder than I thought it would be,” Gharis said. “I just need to get a good score, that’s all.”
