Midnight Rendezvous

I looked up from my book when I heard a sound from my balcony. I slowly made my way over there from my bed. I saw the shadow of the figure outside, I rushed to open the door, it was the one person who would dare to be out this late.

“Are you sure  weren’t followed?” I called.

“Yes, I’m sure, now get over here, we’re losing time,” a  voice replied.

I watched the figure cut through the shadows cast by the moon into my room. I was more than happy to see him again, it had been too long.

“You know, we wouldn’t have this problem if we just told everyone we’re together,” He complained.

“Yeah I know. We both agreed though that it was better this way. We don’t have to worry about anyone but us; Or our fathers finding out,” I told him.

We were the modern day Romeo and Juliet. Doomed because our fathers were corporate rivals, and if they saw us together, well, they’d probably have a heart attack. We were happy though. We were in love. Nothing else mattered as I began to lean back onto his chest.

“We’ll be okay Cassidy, we’re in this together,” Ricky said.

A second later we heard footsteps coming down the hall and saw a light turn on. Before we had time to react, my father’s voice sounded from the other side of the door.

“I heard a voice coming from your room. Why are you still awake and who are you talking to? I heard a male voice,” My father said.

I heard the knob turn and tried to push Ricky out to the door. Then my father appeared in the door.

He saw Ricky and said, “What is a Wentworth doing in your room?”
