Starbucks has recently released their classic Christmas menu items, causing an uproar in social media attention and overall customers. Many items are returning from the previous holiday season, with just some minor tweaks. There have also been new menu items featured this year.
Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino
5/10
Very heavy, and tastes alright. Definitely a Christmas drink, but the flavor is too one sided to enjoy for a long period of time. The peppermint overpowers anything else in the drink, but that’s kind of the point. The drink gets boring after a few sips. The chocolate flakes were a nice touch, definitely added to the image of the drink.
Cranberry Bliss Bar
6/10
Extremely filling, and gets old fast. The first few bites are delicious, and the cranberry definitely has a Christmas undertone, but it’s a little too much to be a simple holiday treat. The frosting is very flavorful, and the base has a nice texture. Overall, this chilled food item is very tasty, but gets to be too much after a while.
Iced Caramel Brulee Latte
7/10
Not much flavor in the drink itself, but has a great Creme Brulee topping. The crunchy Creme Brulee bites really made this drink taste so much better. But honestly the drink by itself just tastes like a caramel latte.
Polar Bear Cake Pop
7/10
Great presentation, but nothing special. The fondant is extremely cute and really fits the Christmas vibe, but at the end of the day, it is simply a vanilla cake pop.
Iced Gingerbread Chai
9/10
So tasty, but honestly tastes more like a cinnamon chai. The only reason this isn’t a 10 is because the gingerbread flavor itself is lacking, which is the entire holiday point of the drink. It’s a delicious drink, with the taste of the cinnamon, but there isn’t enough gingerbread flavor making it taste less like a holiday drink.
Cinnamon Pull-Apart
9/10
Delicious. Great texture, and good cinnamon sugar flavor. This food item is kind of more fall tasting than Christmas, it could’ve been released earlier and been just as good, making this less exciting as a Christmas staple. It’s baked well, very light and fluffy, and has great flavors.
Sugar Plum Cheese Danish
10/10
Very soft, and so delicious. The breading itself is a soft crumbly texture, and the filling has a layer of simple cream cheese, with a jelly sugar plum coating. All of the flavors and textures go so well together. This treat when it’s warmed is perfect for a cold day.
Iced Sugar Cookie Latte
9/10
This is a returning seasonal menu item, with the small switch of its original almond milk for 2%, giving it a new sweeter taste. Overall, this drink is a classic, with its sugar cookie syrup and the sprinkles on top providing the perfect comfort for a winter drink.
Snowman Cookie
10/10
This treat almost has a nostalgic taste to it, reminding customers of old Starbucks items. Its classic crumbly sugar cookie taste with a sweet fondant make it the perfect treat for winter. The design adds to the enjoyment of the cookie, it has a comforting flavor and look.
