Student Designer Places Second at Theater Symposium
Escueta’s makeup design was a no-brainer for 2nd place.
Costume and makeup design students attended the United States Institute of Theatre Technology symposium at UT the weekend of Jan. 17 bringing home honors.
Junior A’lanna Escueta placed second in the Makeup Design category.
The USITT Southwest Winter Symposium offered sessions ranging from wig making to scenic automation as well as student design, technology and management competitions, allowing students to build upon their craft and communicate with professionals.
McNeil was the only high school represented among colleges, and the students exhibited their designs alongside those of college students.
