Pecan Street Festival Continues in Austin for 45th year

The Pecan Street Festival is this weekend Sept. 16-17. It will be held at 6th Street, between Brazos Street and Interstate 35 in Austin, TX.

The Pecan Street Festival aims to support artists, first started in 1978, the festival includes food concessions, live music and artist vendors.

On Saturday it’s open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Sunday it is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Free admission on both days.

On Sept. 5 at the varsity game against Lake Belton High School, junior Jarrell Gary celebrates after scoring a touchdown during the 4th quarter. Gary says that he sees that his team is excited and knows that he made a good play but still needs to keep up the good work. “ After the play, I talked to my offensive coordinator and we ended up getting a flag because of my celebration but the game still had to go on.”
