The counselling department and IB diploma programme will be holding an information meeting in suite 5 after school, Thursday, Apr. 25. It will be held from 4:45-5:45 p.m. and aims to answer any lingering questions parents of underclassmen may have about the IB diploma programme.

“The school that I taught at in Colorado went through the same process and it was the first school in the district to get the IB programme,” IB diploma programme coordinator Emilee Hinegardner said. “Since then, they’ve had the IB programme for 15 years and the school went from one of the schools that scored lower on state testing to the ‘private public’ school of the district.”

The information meeting will cover the IB standard and high level courses, along with the requirements for earning the diploma and prerequisites for IB courses.

“I really like IB because it doesn’t just teach subjects in isolation,” Hinegardner said. “It brings everything together.”
