POISON

hate

it curls in dark corners, consuming

weak souls

killing those who are deemed

unfavorable

disgusting

it’s an ugly emotion

unpure

gross

horrendous

p o i s o n o u s

it poisons our air

our lungs

our minds

our hearts

our children

it curls around our throats

waiting

waiting for it’s chance to tighten and

choke

those who are too weak to fight it off

too weak to battle it with kindness

and love

no one helps those

who are consumed

by hate

they just let them

infect

poison

others

and it continues

as a vicious cycle

can it be stopped?

NO ANTIDOTE

no

it can’t be stopped

it’s spiraled out of control

too many are infected

too many are watching

without helping

just allowing it to happen

allowing people to be killed

to be poisoned

unless we work

we really work

to remedy this

to come up with an antidote

to stop this

it’ll continue to fester

but that’s impossible
because human beings are more comfortable

staying out of things that don’t concern them

than swallowing their pride

and stopping someone from infecting others
