Male Students Strut Their Stuff at Mr. Mav Pageant

Male+Students+Strut+Their+Stuff+at+Mr.+Mav+Pageant

Candidates take the stage April 12 in an all-male pageant to win the title of Mr. Mav 2013 at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5, and T-shirts will also be sold for $10.
Each candidate will show off a talent, participate in a group dance and strut their stuff by modeling casual and formal wear. The top three candidates will participate in an interview.

Sahit Reddy:

Representing: Mu Alpha Theta

Talent: Playing the piano

“My friend did Mr. Mav last year and he convinced me that I should participate this year.”

Adam Gill:

Representing: LULAC

Talent: Beat Boxing

“I am one of the only boys in LULAC and wanted to represent. I also thought it looked like fun when I went sophomore year.”

Lukas Friedrich:

Representing: BITS

Talent: Stand up improv

“I was elected by my classmates to represent BITS.”

Anthony Nguyen:

Representing: Junior Class

Talent: Playing the piano, guitar, triangle and ukulele

“I chose to participate in Mr.Mav because I wanted to have fun and participate in a school activity.”

Michael Murray:

Representing: STUCO

Talent: Singing a mash of different well-known songs

“I’m participating in Mr.Mav because I want to win.”

Alex Frangenberg:

Representing: Interact

Talent: Napoleon Dynamite dance

“I am participating in Mr.Mav because I was elected by my club.”

Foster Siebken:

Representing: Choir

Talent: Singing the tiger song from The Hangover and playing the piano

“I’m participating in Mr. Mav because I wanted to do everything choir-related on the main stage.

Michael Nguyen:

Representing: Drama Club

Talent: Lip synching and dancing

“I was told I was nominated out of three people and won the election to represent Drama Club.”

Gareth Deakes:

Representing: Key Club

Talent: Native American Dancing

“I am participating in Mr. Mav because it looked like a lot of fun.”

Matthew Effland:

Representing: ROTC

Talent: Doing an act

‘I wanted to represent ROTC because it has not been represented in a long time.”

Alec Lewis:

Representing: Film Club

Talent: The plan is to juggle while hula hooping

“I am participating because I am a winner, for the ladies and to get twitter followers.”

Ethan Van Gorkom:

Representing: Student Government

Talent: Poetry

“It seemed fun. I wanted to represent my club and most of my friends are also participating in it.”

Tara Ma:

Representing: Diversity Club

Talent: Parody of a nail salon

“I wanted to represent my club and show something new.”
